01 What does a Favicon Checker do? +
It fetches your website and checks for all the favicon formats browsers, mobile devices and search engines need — including SVG icons, ICO fallbacks, apple-touch-icon and web manifest icons.
02 Why do I need multiple favicon formats? +
Different platforms require different formats: browsers prefer SVG or ICO, iOS needs apple-touch-icon (PNG), Android uses web manifest icons, and search engines look for specific sizes. The checker tells you which ones you're missing.
03 How is the favicon score calculated? +
We check 14 different favicon types and properties across HTML icons, manifest icons, sizing, HTTPS and reachability. Each check has a fixed weight, and the score is the percentage of earned weight.
